***Update from Ms. Mary***
Dear parents and dancers-
At PHDS our thoughts and prayers are with you as we endure this time of uncertainty and worry due to the COVID-19 virus. We have discussed different possibilities concerning dance classes and our spring recital. The dynamics of this pandemic change daily and we are trying our best to make these decisions not out of fear, but respect for all involved.
At this time, we will close the studio until April 6th. At that time, we will reassess and let you know what our final decision for the rest of the season will be. All rehearsals and scheduled makeup classes for March are cancelled.
In the meantime, try to stay fit. Ballet students can practice their technique at home using a chair for a barre. There are many free online ballet classes on YouTube and Pinterest at different levels. Do the stretches we practice in class, but since you now have the extra time, try to hold them longer.
Tap and jazz students, same goes for you. Many famous artists and studios have offered online lessons, try to find yourself a fun class. Be careful that your tap shoes aren’t scratching your moms floors- patio dancing or the garage might be best.
Try performing for your parents or making a video for your grandparents who are also stuck at home. Be creative, and try some choreography of your own.
Most importantly, practice the performance pieces we have started in your regular classes. When we return to the studio, we will be scrambling to finish, so we need you to work hard at home! If you don’t know your music, reach out to us and let us know.
At PHDS, we are being cautious but staying positive that things are going to get better sooner rather than later.
Parents, any thoughts, questions, concerns or discussions on this matter are welcome. Please email us through the studio, at email@example.com.
We did not come to this decision lightly. As heartbreaking as it is to temporarily close the doors to our studio, it is what we believe is best for the whole PHDS tribe. We are a family at PHDS, and our number one priority is to keep our dancers and their families safe and healthy.
We miss you all!
With all of our love-
Ms. Mary and Staff
